“I don't know if I will ever be able to share my experiences with the Rebbe,” says Mrs. Chaya Kahan, from Kfar Chabad Israel, “because I will never have enough words to describe how much he looked after me and guided me, every step of my life.” She enjoyed a unique relationship with the Rebbe. At age six her daughter Rivka had written to him a sweet and simple letter, and received a sweet and charming response.

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ — In an unusual move, the attorney for a rabbi accused of running a house of worship out of his home wants the Zoning Board of Adjustment to subpoena township officials, including former Mayor Dorothy Avallone, to testify.

And in an effort to clear up confusion, zoning board members Thursday asked that the rabbi himself testify on whether he is holding religious services in his home.

At its different locations, the popular eatery served up some of its favorites like “plump, firm, matzo balls” and salt beef to famous diners, including Charlie Chaplin (a close friend of the owner) and Frank Sinatra (who reportedly ordered takeout to his suite at the Savoy, and never returned the silver dishes).
