Ulyanovsk’s Jewish teens look on as a mezuzah is posted onto the door of the city’s new Chabad center.

Ulyanovsk, Russia – Every day Rabbi Yossi Marozov passes Lenin’s birthplace, elementary school and high school on his way to his new Chabad center in Ulyanovsk. “I think to myself that my grandfather was killed by Stalin, my grandmother ran away from Russia, and here I am on the street where Lenin was born where we may soon have a public menorah. It feels victorious.”

Surgery For Shliach Rabbi Sudak

London, England — Rabbi Leivi Sudak the popular rabbi of Edgware Lubavitch and writer of the Jewish News column A-Z of Jewish Customs, successfully underwent serious surgery this week to remove a benign tumour in his pituitary gland.

Doctors say his condition is improving daily. Jewish News readers and friends have sent dozens of emails, offering wishes for a speedy recovery and asking for his address to send flowers.

Shomrim Foil Robbery Attempt at Kosher Town

At around 6:45pm a Shomrim member who was working in the vicinity of Kosher Town spotted a Black male exiting the storage basement which is located on Empire and Albany. The Shomrim member immediately called for backup and numerous units responded and followed the suspect into a building across the street.

A Black resident of that building who was standing in the entranceway immediately pointed the Shomrim members in the direction he went; only after a moment or two the man exited the building with a large garbage bag, the resident once again pointed him out. Police had shown up on scene by then and were direct to the suspect whom they stopped and upon confirmation by the witnesses and the store owner that he was the perp they arrested him.

Dear residents of Crown Heights,

I am a parent of Ka“h a large family.

My children have and are attending regular Lubavitch schools in Crown Heights and B”H are doing well. My son however, was not doing well in school. He was unhappy and did not enjoy going to school.

He found it hard to stay focused in class and found himself getting easily distracted in a large classroom setting. As a result, he kept himself busy doing “other things”. He found himself strolling the hallways and getting detention often.
