It was with warmth and love that the Peoria community came to celebrate with Chabad Jewish Center of Peoria and of Bradley University, as they celebrated 10 years this past Sunday, November 20. The 10 year anniversary was commemorated with a gala dinner that was not only beautiful and elegant, but an uplifting and inspiring experience to all who attended.

Not too long ago, it might have been one of the least likely locations from where a religious scribe would start writing a Torah scroll, but on Sunday, families and friends affiliated with a Jewish center in the New York City neighborhood of Harlem gathered to celebrate just such an occasion.

New Jersey Welcomes New Shluchim

Rabbi Avrohom and Rivky Bergstein have been appointed to be the Rebbe’s Shluchim to Fair Lawn, New Jersey. The Bergstiens will direct the adult education department at Anshei Lubavitch, which is one of the oldest Lubavitch institutions in the world.

Student Fashion Show Celebrates Jewish Femininity

Ever ready to showcase student talent and emphasize Jewish ideas, the Chabad House for Students of the Arts created ‘Inner Expressions,’ a unique student fashion show, to inspire students and the greater Jewish community of Philadelphia about the essence of Jewish femininity. The women-only event took place on Thursday evening, November 17 in the Gershman Y’s Levitt Auditorium, in Center City Philadelphia.

500 Supporters Celebrate with Chabad of Alaska

The Eighth Annual Auction of Chabad in Alaska has attracted again more than 500 business leaders and government officials thanks to the hard work of the friends of Chabad in Alaska, Gala Co-Chairs, Liz Ashlock and Shani Green. The “Event of the Year” in Alaska took place at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage and raised funds in support of the Esformes Campus in Alaska, which includes Chabad House, Synagogue, School, and Jewish Museum, led by the Shluchim Rabbi Yosef and Esty Greenberg.

Friendship Circle Walk Inspires Community

LIVINGSTON, NJ [CHI] — Last month’s surprise snowstorm wreaked havoc in the northeast. It brought down trees and power lines, leaving hundreds of thousands of New Jersey residents in the dark and cold for days. It also pushed off the much anticipated 5th Annual Friendship Circle Walk, originally scheduled for October 30. On Sunday, November 13, the walk finally took place, with a record number of more than 1,500 men, women and children, joining together to walk in support of children and teens with special needs.
