More than 400 Students Unite for ‘Mega Shabbos’

Chicago, IL — More than 400 people gathered in Allison dining hall Friday evening for Northwestern University’s first Mega Shabbat, an event put together by members of the Jewish community on campus with contributions from the University. The event was open to all students, faculty and staff.

Six New Shluchim to Germany

A recent gathering during the induction of new Hamburg Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Shlomo Bistritzky, brought together 24 Shluchim from fourteen German cities to discuss the future for Chabad in Germany. Also present was Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, who has been involved in German Jewish life for more than 30 years and helped establish many of the Chabad Houses there.

Washington Snowed-in by Worst Storm in Years

With an unusual amount of snow – early reports indicated that it could be the worst such storm in 30 years – falling in parts of Washington, Jewish centers have canceled events and classes in the hope that all will improve in time for the upcoming Sabbath. But residents have taken the hassle in stride: Some in Olympia, by far the hardest-hit area, were out playing in the snow Wednesday and Thursday with their families.

350 Chabad Centers to Participate in ‘One Shabbos’
