With the Kinus Hashluchos less than a week away, a banner was affixed at the Jewish Children’s museum today, welcoming the thousands of Shluchos set to arrive in Crown Heights for the International Kinus Hashluchos in this Hakhel year.

Shliach Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz of Chabad Lubavitch of Southwest Florida on the way to New York for Yud Shevat put on Teffilin on the flight with a young entrepreneur from Manhattan. Rabbi Minkowicz texted the young man’s mother the picture of them putting on Teffilin from the plane and she responded. “Thank you. So great!! I am very proud.”

Ari Lesser, reporting from 12,000 feet elevation at the Continental Divide at Loveland Pass, Colorado, can confidently say that after being wrapped up in a Tallis, strapped into Tefillin, it’s still rather difficult to thumb through the Siddur with thick snow gloves. This picture was taken in just 6 degree weather, with a powerful icy east wind blasting so hard he could barely even make it through Amidah facing Mizrach.

This picture shows the block of Eastern Parkway between Kingston and Brooklyn before 770 was built. Turns out Union Street was built before this block was. This was 1916 and the lot of 770 had 1 or 2 structures that were taken down and then then 770 plans were announced in 1933.

The men of Anshei Lubavitch Shul in Crown Heights pose for a picture at their family hakhel shabbaton that took place this week in the Poconos. The shabbaton was attended by 55 families, totaling 400 people, and was an amazing success.
