Baruch Dayan Hoemes – Rabbi Yisroel (Izzy) Rosenfeld OBM

With profound sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Yisroel (Izzy) Rosenfeld OBM at the age of 68, Reb Yisreol was an ‘Osek Betzorchei Tzibur’, a great Baal Chesed and never turned a person away when asking for help. He was the director of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council for many years and contributed countless and devoted hours to the community.

He is survived by his wife Mirel, and his children Elimelech (Miami, FL), Tzemach (Loas Angeles, CA), Moshe (Crown Heights), Chani Labkowski (Monsey, NY), Shmuly (Crown Heights), along with his many grandchildren.

The Levaya will take place today, Monday and will be leaving the Shomrei Hadaas Chapel at 1:30pm and will be passing by 770 at around 2:00pm.

She is survived by her sons R Nochum Yitzchock (California), R Menchem Mendel (Crown Heights), R Yosef (Crown Heights), R Tanchum (Kfar Chabad), R Baruch (Crown Heights) and her daughter Cherry Posner (Crown Heights).

The Levaya will be Motzoei Shabbos, leaving Shomrei Hadas at 8:30 PM, passing 770 at 9:00 PM and then will fly Israel where she will be buried next to her husband on Har Hazeitim.

Rabbi Zelig Sharfstein, one of the oldest Rabbis of Chabad in North America, is ill and has been hospitalized in critical condition. Rabbi Sharfstein was sent to Cincinnati over 50 years ago where he served as Rabbi of the City and was a member of the Vaad Rabbonei Lubavitch Hakloli.

With sadness we report the passing of Mrs. Eva Baron (Rockville, MD), Thursday evening, she was 92. She was the mother of Mrs. Chana Rachel Schusterman of Los Angeles, CA.

The funeral will take place Sunday at 11:00 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 83-45 Cypress Hills Street, Glendale, NY 11385, (MAP)

Mrs. Chana Rachel Schusterman will be sitting Shiva in Crown Heights from Sunday evening 7:00 PM through Monday night, at 750 Eastern Pkwy, [bet Kingston and Brooklyn Ave].

Upon her return to Los Angeles, CA Tuesday afternoon, she will be continuing Shiva at her home 126 N. Fuller Avenue, Los Angeles, CA. She will finish Shiva by the end of the week.
