Oholei Torah Zal Has Pre-Slichos Farbrengen

A longstanding Chassidishe custom was that on Motzai Shabbos Slichos, in hours leading up to midnight Chassidim would sit down and farbreng right up to the appointed time. Bochurim in Oholei Torah Zal sat down for one such farbrengen with their Mashpia Rabbi Zalman Wilenkin.

Over 100 men packed Chovevi Torah’s hall on Wednesday night. It was a mixed crowd with some more Chassidish, others more modern and an array of views. The common denominator was that they were all Israelis who live in Crown Heights. Some young Israelis decided to take the initiative and arrange gatherings for the Hebrew-speaking residents of the neighborhood and judging by this first event, there is a great interest in something of this kind.

Beis Medrash Farbrengs for 11 Nissan, Live!

This past Thursday night at The Beis Medrash the lights were on until 2 AM while several hundred people participated in a farbrengen with Rabbi Feller l’kovod yud aleph Nissan. Thanks to TorahCafe.com an additional 2,087 participated from the comfort of their homes – the only thing they were missing was some hot potato kugel!
