California Gov. Jerry Brown led the annual ceremonial Capitol menorah lighting Monday, lamenting the use of an electric menorah instead of one with “real fire,” and using his brief remarks to compare the story of Hanukkah to his push for renewable energy.

Perfectly Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside and oozing with delicious jelly – i set out on a quest to find the perfect jelly doughnut – that greasy chanukah treat we look forward to an entire year. So, I took a stroll up Kingston Ave. and ate every type of jelly doughnut i saw, from every bake shop in Crown Heights. (On a side note, I think I’ll be sticking to the latkes over this year’s Chanukah.)

This Thursday: Worlds’s Largest Menorah Parade

The organizers of the Annual NYC Chanukah Menorah Parade, run by the Mitzvah Tank Org. under the auspices of the Lubavitch Youth Org., have announced that due to more “Pirsumei Nisa”, this year tradition will change. The parade will be advanced to Thursday night the 3rd night of Chanukah – Dec 22nd at 5pm, instead of Motzoei Shabbos as every year.
