For the first time, Jewish inmates at state prisons in New Jersey will be allowed to participate in Hanukka menora-lighting ceremonies behind bars.

Technology Catches Up to iLearn

iLearn’s Summer Program began today in full swing. The morning’s classes were started by Rabbi Mendel Levin, who taught the first lesson in a series about the halachos of brachos. Old Friend Donates Torah to Israeli Chabad House

The completion of a Sefer Torah was celebrated in the Israeli town of Nes Tziyona, at the Chabad center directed by Rabbi Shagi Har-Shefer. The Torah was donated by Rabbi Yitzchok Horowitz of Crown Heights, who was befriended and guided by Shagi when he was new to Yiddishkeit and studying at the Yeshiva in Kfar Chabad many years ago.

Ron Hirsch, the man accused of detonating a pipe bomb last spring at the Chabad House Lubavitch of Santa Monica, is awaiting a psychiatric evaluation that a judge will use to determine whether to force Hirsch to take medication.
