US Ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro visited Kaplan Hospital in Rechovot to meet with victims of Hamas rocket attacks. Upon his arrival on Tuesday, the ambassador was met by hospital administrator Prof. Yaakov Yahav and a contingent of senior personnel. The ambassador conveyed good wishes on the victims on behalf of US President Barak Obama.

I fought for my family’s safety in a community under fire

Cowering in a tiny, windowless bathroom with my children, in a state of terror, I cried out to my dear, departed mother. “Sarah Basha bas Reb Shimon, save us!” I could hear the shouts of the mob outside…. How had an ordinary Monday evening in Brooklyn, New York in 1991, turned into Russia of the 1800s? There we were, a Jewish family fearing for our lives as the mobs outside our front door ran wildly through the streets, calling for our death.

Rabbi Pinchas Taylor was at ease in front of the camera as it recorded his lecture on “Dreams in the Jewish Tradition” during an adult education class at Chabad of Plantation. The 27-year-old rabbi’s presentation was being taped for Torah Café, an Internet-based collection of video lectures, classes and presentations by Torah scholars and experts operated by the Chabad-Lubavitch’s Rohr Jewish Learning Institute.
