Experts piece together notebook used by Israeli during Columbia mission

NEW ORLEANS – A small heap of paper that survived the fiery
disintegration of space shuttle Columbia, a 38-mile fall to Earth and
two months of exposure to rain and sun in a Texas field has been
painstakingly restored by forensic scientists, yielding the flight
diary and notes of Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon.
Scientists used computer image-enhancement technology and infrared
light to read the charred and tattered pages and pieced some of them
together like jigsaw puzzles.
Not everything could be deciphered. But Sharon Brown, the Israeli
police document examiner who pieced the material together, said she was
amazed that the metal-ring cardboard-bound notebook had even survived.
Almost every night this past week in Rabbinical College of Amercica (Morristown, NJ), There has been dancing. Music being provided by bochurim from Tomchei and Tiferes.
Today alternate side parking regulations are in affect, so please take care to move your car so that the snow can be moved into the street and this way melt much faster and that you shouldn’t get a $115 fine, “A Shod Oif Idishe Gelt”.
And on the same topic, make sure to shovel your sidewalk, the sanitation “police” will be driving around giving out ticket for non shoveled or icy sidewalks and besides the fact that its not Mentchlich to leave a sidewalk like that.
Today we hit a record high, 88 unique hits in a single day, this is the most we’ve had in one day.
And our total hit count stands at a healthy 846 since we opened this February.
With your support we will only continue growing. Thank You.

Auxiliary Police Officer E. Klein, a Crown Heights resident, was honored as “Auxiliary Police Officer of the Year” for Patrol Borough Brooklyn South Wednesday night.
He is seen in the accompanying thubnail photo flanked by Auxiliary Police Officers Mendel Biston (L) and Rafael Lefkowitz (R), two other Chassidic auxiliaries and also members of the Crown Heights community, who were awarded certificates of recognition at the ceremony.
“There are currently about 60 Auxiliary Police Officers in the 71st Precinct, and numerous Precincts throughout Brooklyn South, so Mr. Klein’s selection was a significant honor.”

Admin,
Last night a FDNY Ambulance was responding to an emergency call, racing up Troy Ave. while apparently not having his sirens on, hit a minivan that was crossing the Crown St. and Troy Ave. intersection.
Just looking at the extensive damage and then later hearing that the driver only went into shock and no physical injury, I must say this a a miracle.

At 9:30pm last night there was a fire on the corner of Union and New York.
Most of the building’s inhabitants are black, but there are a few jewish family’s that live there as well.
This building was recently purchased by a jewish business man and this is the second fire since he has purchased it.
The last fire was blamed on a faulty extension cable that heated up and caught fire, destroying 3 apartments on the fourth floor and causing some heavy exterior damage to the roof and roof gutters.
Last night’s fire was on the third floor and was relatively small and caused very little damage thanks to extremely fast fire department response which were there in minutes and had subdued the fire in minutes
3 fire companies had come to the scene, a total of 6 fire engines, 3 ladders and 3 pumping trucks and there were 6 fire chiefs on site as well!
There were no reported injuries.
