Torrance, CA — Wesley Baer had a typical bar mitzvah on Sunday – reciting the Torah in Hebrew, chanting traditional blessings and prayers that mark the age of maturity in the Jewish tradition.

Bar Mitzva Marked in Siberian Community

Omsk, Russia – In the west Siberian city of Omsk, local Jews have good reason for celebration, as another young man underwent his Bar Mitzva this week. The event took place on June 24th in the Synagogue, which was filled with relatives, loved ones and members of the local community.

it is a natural progression that this 13-year-old boy would have a Bar Mitzva. A student of the Jewish Sunday School and ‘Gan Israel’ camp each summer, he also actively participated in various projects organized by the local community. He accompanied by his mother, personally made the request to the region’s Chief Rabbi Osher Krichevsky, to mark his coming of age Jewish-style.

Boruch Dayan HaEmes – Chabad Graduate Soldier killed in Iraq

With sadness we inform you of the tragic passing of Daniel Aghami HYD, who was killed by a roadside bomb in Baghdad, Iraq late last week, while serving on active duty. He was only 25 years old.

Daniel graduated with highest honors from Hebrew Academy-Lubavitch in Margate, FL and his parents Yiabdlu Lechaim Tovim, Beth and Itzack are members of Chabad of Boynton Beach, FL.

Chabad.org Launches Hebrew & German Websites!

Chabad.org has recently launched two new division of its website in both Hebrew and German.

These new sites are operated by Chabad.org and include all the standerd Chabad.org tools, content and many other features that were previously only available to English speakers. Each site also includes locally unique content, written, prepared and compiled by the sites’ editors.

New Shluchim to California

Rabbi Gil and Mrs Bracha Sarah (nee Goldschen) Leeds of Crown Heights embarked on Shlichus today-Monday, to Berkeley, CA where they will serve as the Shluchim at the University of Califorina Berkeley Chabad House on Camous.

The new Leeds were appointed by Rabbi Yehuda Ferris and are recipients of the Rohr grant.
