A short distance from where the Frierdiker Rebbe first set foot onto American soil, the hangar is one of the only spaces large enough to seat the thousands of Shluchim and their guests. More to come. NEW YORK, NY — The New York City comptroller, William C. Thompson Jr., said on Sunday that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s gaping budget deficits could be diminished by increasing automobile registration fees in 12 counties served by the authority’s trains and buses.
At a press conference outside Grand Central Terminal, Mr. Thompson said that drivers now pay $30 every two years to register a vehicle in New York City, though they also pay additional state fees.

The session involving 10 women, including Kivman, included whipping up a Shabbat dinner with traditional Jewish foods such as gefilte fish, matzah balls, kugels and a non-dairy cheesecake in under an hour, sprinkled with the significance and history behind the dishes.
Jewish dietary laws (kashruth) and holiday traditions reflect the availability of certain foods within different international regions.
