CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A motorist is lucky to be alive today after he attempted to get out of his car as a city bus was passing him. The incident took place at around 3:15pm on New York Avenue in front of the 71st Precinct, the car was double parked and the driver opened his door after more than half the bus had already passed him and got damaged by the bus's rear tires.

From the Banquet to a Farbrengen lasting into the Night
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — From the pinnacle of the Kinus, the Banquet on Pier 94 in Manhattan, Shluchim made their way back to Crown Heights, to 770 where Shluchim and Bochurim gathered in the big Zal upstairs and the main Shul downstairs and Farbrenged well into the night.

In the English Colel Chabad Calendar there is a mistake with regards to when we start saying “Vten Tal U'Matar”.
On page 56 it incorrectly states that we begin saying “ותן טל ומטר” on Sunday night the 4th of Kislev, when it should be Thursday night the 8th of Kislev.

Banquet DVD Available Less than 12 Hours after!
Shluchim who were still Farbrenging in 770 at 6:00am, were shocked when JEM staff walked in the with banquet video fully produced on DVD. Last night’s historic banquet was shocker enough. The fact that the entire event was available on DVD only hours after it concluded was an even bigger shock.
The DVD runtime is 2:42 and contains the entire banquet, including the full speeches of Ambassador Yehuda Avner, Rabbi Moshe Bryski, the roll call, dancing and Tzeirei Hashluchim presentation.

NEW YORK, NY — The New York City comptroller, William C. Thompson Jr., said on Sunday that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s gaping budget deficits could be diminished by increasing automobile registration fees in 12 counties served by the authority’s trains and buses.
At a press conference outside Grand Central Terminal, Mr. Thompson said that drivers now pay $30 every two years to register a vehicle in New York City, though they also pay additional state fees.
