GLENDALE, CA — Hebrew songs filled the air Sunday as Jews and non-Jews spun dreidels, made crafts and listened to stories to celebrate the start of Hanukkah at the Americana at Brand.

25 Menorah Car Parade in… Hawaii!

OAHU, HI [CHI] — For its second year running, Hawaii had a car Menorah parade with over 25 cars in participation! Beginning from the Kaimuki High School on the Oahu Island, then running down Waikik and through downtown Honolulu, spreading the light of Chanukah in urban Hawaii.

Chabad Of The Valley Lights Up Universal Citywalk!

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA [CHI] — Chabad of the Valley had another amazing success at its seventh annual Chanuka extravaganza at Universal Studios Citywalk. “Look at the size of this crowd! This is the true definition of Hakhel!”, said Rabbi Yossi Malka of Chabad of Encino as he ascended the lift to kindle the giant 15 foot menorah along with philanthropists Lyle Weisman & Gary Finder. According to Rabbi Mayer Greene, the event’s emcee, the exciting concert and celebration had the participation of those who identify themselves as orthodox, conservative, reform or even unaffiliated Jews. In fact, many temples, day schools and other organizations encouraged their members to participate.

Menorah lit at the Nashville Predators in Front of 16,457

NASHVILLE, TN [CHI] — On Moitzei Shabbos, Rabbi Yitzchok Tiechtel from the Chabad Center in Nashville, lit a Menorah for the 16,457 people at the Sommet Center stadium, as the Nashville Predators Hockey faced off against the New York Islanders.

As the fans streamed into the stadium, the ice was sparkling clear, the lights were sharp, and a nine foot Menorah stood on the bandstand. The spirit of Chanukah entered the hearts of the most spirited fans, as the first ever Jewish Heritage Night was hosted at the NHL Hockey team in Nashville Tennessee.

SAN CLEMENTE, CA — As children played with slivers of ice this afternoon on the Community Center lawn, a sculptor placed final touches on a 6-foot menorah made of ice.

It prompted Rabbi Mendel Slavin to remind close to 200 people that warmth can answer cold, that light can answer darkness.
