Shluchim kids throughout the world recently took part in a grand Art Contest organized by The Shluchim Office in honor of Chof Ches Nissan. The theme of the contest was “What the world will be like during ימות המשיח .” Kids of all ages expressed their talents as they sent in their very own creative drawings.
We would like to wish Mazal Tov to Shaya and Shaina (nee Gershowitz) Gopin on the birth of their daughter.

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Eleven boys sit poised in a brightly-painted third floor classroom at Yeshiva Darchai Menachem, in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, New York. The atmosphere in the room has the feeling of a quiz show. Their teacher, Rabbi Shua Samuels, barely has a chance to get his questions out, before hands wave eagerly in the air, 11 preteen boys desperate to demonstrate their knowledge.
Please take a moment and say a Kapitel Tehillim for a Refuah Shlaima.

For the last few weeks, hundreds of fellow Tzeirey Hashluchim and Chayolim in T“H have united in honor of HaYeled Hashliach Levi Yitzchak Wolowik A”H.
A precious Chayol in Tzivos Hashem, he was the epitome of Ahavas Yisroel, and true soldier. To honor his memory, a Sefer Torah is being written exclusively by Children in the Army of Hashem from all over the world through a global Learn-A-Thon. They are learning Tanya B”P and getting Friends and Family to sponsor them for every line they learn.
Tuesday marked the fifth anniversary of the passing Rabbi Yehuda Leib Raskin, Chabad emissary to Morocco for more than 44 years.
Born in Russia in 1933, Raskin escaped with his family to Kazakhstan during World War II. There he met Rabbi Schneerson’s father, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, right after his release from prison and exile. The young Raskin often assisted the elder Schneerson with his religious and physical needs.

ALBANY, NY — Lawmakers in Albany may have finally put some brakes on the runaway MTA.
Millions of transit riders can breathe a little easier now that the Legislature and Gov. Paterson have – seemingly – come up with more money to avoid massive service cuts, reduce a looming fare hike and fund a portion of its capital budget.
CROWN HEIGHTS — Close to 200 friends and alumni of the Mayanot Institute of Jewish Studies enjoyed a wine and cheese dessert reception hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Haysha and Bassie Deitsch in Crown Heights this past Sunday evening.

WASHINGTON — When Monica Lundeen Smith and Michael Smith got a letter from their condo owners association asking them to take down “the item” on their doorframe, they assumed it was a simple misunderstanding.
The association, the couple figured, must not have known that the object was a mezuzah, a small box with a scroll inside that Jews traditionally affix to their doorposts.
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A woman was struck and injured by a turning car on Carroll Street at the intersection of Schenectady Avenue. The incident took place yesterday, Tuesday at around 3:30pm.
