“Post Pesach” Shlichus in New Zealand
A historic gathering of Bochurim and Shluchim took place after Pesach in the New Zealand Chabad Headquarters in Canterbury.
After a most successful nationwide Pesach campaign, a number of the fourteen bochurim who gave up their vacation to assist communities around New Zealand for Pesach, have stayed on after the eight day holiday, to continue their outreach work in cities across the South Island.

Four Lubavitchers Nominated for Rockland Jewish Hero
Four local Lubavitcher couples have been nominated for the Jewish Federation of Rockland County’s Rockland Jewish Hero Contest. The first place winner will be announced at the Federation’s annual dinner and will receive a $1,000 monetary prize and be listed as “Hero of the Year” on the Federation website.

Rabbi Moshe Elye Gerlitzky, who fled from the advancing Nazi armies of war-torn Europe to find refuge in Canada and establish a Jewish educational network on the country’s Atlantic coast, passed away April 4 at the age of 94. One of the thousands of Holocaust survivors saved by the selfless acts of Japanese Consul Chiune Sugihara, Gerlitzky was the city of Montreal’s first full-time Jewish day-school teacher and, later in life, the oldest Chabad-Lubavitch emissary.
