Just the other day, as we were getting ready to set up dinner, my 12 yr old daughter asked me an extremely shocking question. “Why don’t you and Tatty get along?” My heart skipped a beat. I finally found my breath and asked, “Why would you say that?" In a most innocent voice, she simply replied, “Because Tatty is always on the computer.”

Newly renovated Ohel Rachel Synagogue welcomes visitors to World Expo

When the World Expo 2010 opened in Shanghai this month, the spectacular Israel pavilion created a stir within the Jewish community. But that is not the only Jewish building in Shanghai attracting accolades. Much attention is being paid to the grand reopening of Shanghai’s Ohel Rachel (House of Rachel) Synagogue, which will now be available to the Jewish community during the Expo. Tycoon Jacob Sassoon built the ivy-covered shul on Shaanxi Road in 1920 in memory of his wife Rachel.

WATERLOO, IA — Testimony has ended in the child labor trial of Sholom Rubashkin.

After a lunch break, the defense indicated it didn't have any more witnesses, and the state didn't call any rebuttal witnesses.

Elderly Driver Suffers Heart Attack and Crashes

A driver crashed her car in to an electricity pole at the intersection of Maple Street and Kingston Avenue Monday evening after suffering a heart attack while at the wheel. The driver, an elderly black woman, was driving down Maple when for no apparent reason crashed directly into the pole and a relatively slow speed.

On Monday, Israeli ships stopped a flotilla carrying materials that could be used for war, including cement that Israel maintained could be used to build bunkers, to Hamas-ruled Gaza. The crew of one boat resisted violently, triggering a firefight in which nine people were killed, most of them Turkish nationals.

Baby Moshe Still Awaits Compensation

Times Now

Grandfather of baby Moshe, one of the youngest survivors of the 26/11 terrorist attacks, is still waiting for an announcement regarding compensation for his grandson.

Moshes parents, Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and his wife Rivka, were among five hostages killed at Nariman House, the Chabad Jewish centre at Colaba. Moshe, who is half American, was rescued by his Indian nanny Sandra Samuel.
