Historic: German Chancellor to Light Public Menorah at Brandenburg Gate

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is slated to help light Berlin’s public Chanukah menorah at the Brandenburg Gate on Thursday evening. This will mark the first time in history that a German chancellor attends a public-menorah lighting ceremony, which will also feature German ministers, members of parliament and ambassadors.

Lights flashed on the stage as the kids danced and sang along with a DJ and singer who roused the crowd.
