Hatzolah of Los Angeles Holds 1st Dinner!

LOS ANGELES, CA [CHI] — In the beginning of the month Hatzolah of Los Angeles held its first Dinner, celebrating 10 years of service to the Los Angeles community. The dinner honored Rabbi & Mrs. Uri Mandelbaum, Dr. & Mrs. Martin Kay and Mr. Alex Friedman, who donated the first three ambulances to Hatzolah respectively.

Although damage in Hawaii paled in comparison to the humanitarian disaster that unfolded in Japan, flooded streets remained near coastal areas in the island chain.

As an international effort representing 70 countries and a host of non-governmental organizations directs aid to the troubled island nation of Japan, locals who survived an initial 8.9-magnitude earthquake and devastating tsunami only to face the prospect of the worst nuclear disaster since the 1986 Chernobyl meltdown are living in a near constant state of fear, doing what they can to make it through the day.
