The state of Amazon in Brazil increased its Jewish population by a fifth for three days this past Shabbos, when it hosted a Jewish singles shabbaton in a hotel in the Amazon rainforest. The event was organized by Chabad of Manaus, Amazon’s largest city, and attracted people from across Brazil and other South American countries (Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay), who flew in for the amazing event.
