Major Menorah Lighting at Minor League Game

SYRACUSE, NY — A minor league hockey game got a whole lot brighter when eight candles of a Menorah were lit on the ice during a Syracuse Crunch hockey game this past Motzoai Shabbos. Rabbi Yaakov Rapoport along with Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Itzinger lit the menorah with the teams general manager Vance Lederman.

Chigwell UK celebrates Chanukah with Queen’s Rep

Chigwell, in Essex displays a beautiful Menorah and hosts an annual Public Lighting organized by Shluchim from nearby Buckhurst Hill – Rabbi Odom & Henny Brandman. The event, now in its 4th year was originally initiated after a local Town Council Official Cllr Brian Sandler was invited as a guest of honour to the Buckhurst Hill Menorah Lighting 5 years ago.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY [CHI] — With the NHL on strike and the Islanders relocating to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Chabad of West Hempstead’s annual Chanukah on Ice celebration had to be reworked, with great results! Over 200 participated at the Iceland ice skating Rink.

In Times Square during the seasons busiest shopping frenzy, the Toys ‘R Us store had some costumed Disney characters give holiday greetings to the many tourists passing by. Bochurim who were there on Mivtzoim found out that one of them was Jewish! They got him to light the Menorah right there in Times Square.

With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Peretz Hecht OBM, longtime resident of Crown Heights who merited special kiruvim from the Rebbe. He also merited to study in Tomchei Temimim on Bedford and Dean.
