Over the 22nd of Shvat weekend there were many different workshops, farbrengens and get-togethers catering to the Shluchos gathered for the Convention. One meet up, though, was different. While many lecturers addressed priority topics, such as those related to chinuch, family, budgeting and a whole lot more, one was missing: Handling multiples.

What I Be Exhibit Comes to Crown Heights

A man with “Shvartze” − Yiddish for “black” and a derogatory term for African Americans − written across his forehead is one of the many startling images in the “What I Be” photography project, portraits of people with their greatest vulnerability written on their face or arm. It is a project of California-based photographer Steve Rosenfield, who in the rest of his professional life photographs rock bands and bar mitzvahs, and is currently in New York shooting images of young Jews.

Inspirational Month of Shvat for JETS Students

The students at JETS had the most inspiring month of Shvat due to the ongoing farbrengens and inspiration – which permeated the hearts of the bochurim. Rabbi Mayer Schmukler, Director and Founder of JETS, works tirelessly to ensure that the bochurim at JETS experience true and real chassidishkeit and are infused with the teachings of the Rebbe.
