With all recent events happening in Eretz Yisroel, JEM’s Living Torah team decided to put aside their regular programming and release a series of programs presenting some of the Rebbe’s views on key issues confronting the residents and leaders in Eretz Yisroel today, as well as his encouragement to the Jews living there.
Among the elderly at an old-age home in Gothenburg are survivors of Nazism, concentration camp inmates who were transported to Sweden on the White Buses in the spring of 1945 by the Swedish Red Cross. They were from Hungary, Poland, Czechoslovakia and other German occupied countries, where they remember their childhoods in once lively Jewish communities that had been decimated.

This Shabbos, our hearts and thoughts will turn to remembering Daniel Tregerman, OBM. This innocent four-year-old boy was killed by a mortar shell fired by Hamas at Nahal Oz, near the Gaza strip. At his funeral, his grandfather tearfully spoke of how much his little grandson loved “Shalom Aleichem” and then, in a voice cracked with pain, the grandfather slowly sang the lovely melody.

Nic and Cat Trammell of Los Angeles just installed their very first mezuzah, as have hundreds of other young couples and singles due to an initiative of the Young Jewish Professionals of Los Angeles—a Chabad center for young adults—and has spread to more than a dozen other Chabad centers catering to young Jewish professionals from Miami to Montreal.
