Letter & Spirit: Does Tzivos Hashem Glorify War?
In this week’s edition of Letter & Spirit, we present a letter from the Rebbe in which he responds to an educator who questioned the Tzivos Hashem campaign for Jewish children – saying it seems to glorify the military, weapons and war. The letter was written through the Rebbe’s trusted secretary Rabbi Nissan Mindel, and was made available by the latter’s son-in-law Rabbi Sholom Ber Shapiro.

Bais Rivkah Health Fair Combines Learning and Fun
As we approached Rosh Chodesh Kislev celebrating our Rebbe’s recovery, Bais Rivkah dedicated a day to focus on Venishmartem Me’od Lenafshosechem. Consequently, last week Thursday the students of Bais Rivkah High School experienced a most meaningful and magnificent event – a Health Fair with learning and hands-on activities about spiritual, physical, and emotional health. Many professionals provided insight and shared their extensive knowledge in areas affecting our health.

New Life Comes to Crown Heights Library
First opened in the early 1970’s, the Levi Yitzchok Library fell into disrepair after its longtime director passed away almost two decades ago. Today, the Brooklyn library is humming once again with activity as readers of all ages find good reason to visit.

Rebuilding With Determination on Mumbai Tragedy
Young Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries Rabbi Yisroel and Chaya Kozlovsky have been married for four years and are the parents of two children. Two years ago, they undertook an especially difficult assignment as co-directors of Chabad-Lubavitch in Mumbai, India, the city in which Chabad emissaries Rabbi Gavriel (Gabi) and Rivka (Rivki) Holtzberg were killed in a terrorist attack on November 26, 2008, along with six other people.
