Letter & Spirit: The 10 Commandments
In this week’s edition of Letter and Spirit, in honor of Parshas Yisro, we present a clear, deep and concise letter of the Rebbe on the topic of the Aseres Ha’dibros. The letter was written in English through the Rebbe’s trusted secretary Rabbi Nissan Mindel, and was made available by the latter’s son-in-law, Rabbi Sholom Ber Shapiro.
Dreaded Zika Virus Arrives in New York
New York City health officials say three New Yorkers have contracted the mosquito-borne Zika virus, which can cause severe birth defects. All three had recently returned from countries in Africa and South America that have experienced an outbreak.

Motzei Shabbos: Montreal Seminary Reunion
Marking Shnas Hakhel, Chaya Mushka Seminary of Montreal will have a reunion for its alumnus. This kinus Hakhel will take place in the FREE banquet hall, 1383 President Street, on Motzaei Shabbos Yisro, 20 Shevat, January 30th. Considering that most of the Seminary’s alumni are in town to attend the Kinus Hashluchos, the program will begin at 7:30 and end at 9 pm, enabling the Shluchos to join the Kinus’ Melave Malka after the reunion.

Lubavitcher Stabbing Victim in Stable Condition
The 36-year-old Lubavitcher Chosid who was repeatedly stabbed outside a gas station in Givat Ze’ev, just north of Jerusalem, was upgraded to stable condition Thursday morning after surgery at Shaare Tzedek Medical Center.
