It is forbidden on a holiday to do any act in preparation for the following day,1 even if the following day is Shabbat. However, the sages created a halachic device, called an eruv tavshilin, which allows one to cook food on a holiday day for use on a Shabbat that immediately follows it.
This year marks thirty years since Nachum Markowitz hosted the first Kiddush during Tishrei in front of 770, and in honor of this special milestone a special surprise awaits the guests in the Sukkah of 770.

Chabad chassidim have constructed the presidential sukka for President Shimon Peres. A delegation of rabbonim from Kfar Chabad was sent to address the presidential assignment, including Rabbi Gershon Ochana and Rabbi Binyamin Lifshitz. They also presented the president with 4 minim for use during Yomtov.
Sukkas of chocolate and Sukkahs of Cream, Sukkahs of Matzah and Sukkas of wafers were among the creations of the students in Lubavitcher Yeshiva on Crown Street all of which participated in a contest for who can create the most interesting Sukkah!
This past Sunday, each of the 35 Elementary classes in Oholei Torah had a raffle for a set of daled mimin, sponsored by Mendy Lipskier of the Esrogim Center of Crown Heights.

Rabbi Avremi and Channy Lapine of Crown Heights, together with their son Mendel, will IYH soon be moving on Shlichus to Columbia, Missouri, where they will establish a permanent Chabad-Lubavitch presence at the University of Missouri. They will be serving the needs of the students as well as the local community and of the sorrounding areas.
