In advance of the weeklong Jewish festival of Sukkot, the Transportation and Security Administration reminded its airport screeners and the travelling public that Jewish travelers may carry the Four Species – a palm branch, myrtle twigs, willow branches, and a citron fruit known in Hebrew as an etrog – through security checkpoints and onboard planes.

He said that he assumes that Big Y would consider that some kind of Kosher department would not only be good for the community but also valuable as a business venture.

For years, the Waldbaum's supermarket in West Hartford has supplied the Jewish community with fresh kosher meats, deli products and baked goods.
