Lubavitcher Yeshiva Chovevei Torah Announces this Year’s Talmidim HaShluchim

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — This year Chovevei Torah has selected 16 Bochurim who will be dispatched to Yeshivos around the world as Talmidim HaShluchim and will provide more personal attention in the learning environment as well as assist in the Mivtzoim Programs.

Yesterday the Menahel Ruchny R. Kalmen Wienfeld took the list of Bochurim to the Ohel and the Rebbes Room, followed by a meeting with R. Dovid Raskin, Menahel of the Central Lubavitcher Yeshiva, who pointed out the Rebbe’s terms for Bochurim going out on Shlichus.

Rabbi Shmulik Schneerson (at right), a visiting emissary for the Chabad Lubavitch in New York, has just wrapped a black leather strap called the “tefillin” around the arm of a man (at left with his son) at the recent Israeli Day Festival. A special prayer, handwritten on parchment, is placed within the tefillin, which Orthodox Jewish men put on every day.

HONOLULU, HI — A young rabbi visiting Hawaii has seen the world’s remote corners as he seeks out Jews. When Rabbi Shmulik Schneerson takes his Torah on the road, there's no place he won't go to minister to Jews.

It is with sadness that we inform you of the passing of Mrs. Sima Itkin, the wife HaRav HaChasid Reb Meir Itkin alav hashalom, passed away on Monday night.

Mrs. Sima Itkin was the mother of Mrs. Feigei Rapaport, who is a Shlucha in Mequon, Wisconsin, Mrs. Shana Tiechtel who is the principal of Beis Rivkah High School in Crown Heights, Harav Hachasid Zalman Itkin A”H, Harav Yosef Yitzchok Itkin, a Shliach in Pittsburgh, Harav Mendel Itkin a Shliach in Sydney, Harav Leibel Itkin a Shliach in Scranton, PA, and Mrs. Chana Geisinsky a Shlucha to Great Neck New York.

She left behind many children and grandchildren, and great children who are Shluchim and Shluchos around the world.

The Levaya will take place today, Tuesday afternoon, and will pass 770 at around 3:00 PM.
