DES MOINES, IA — The body of Maj. Stuart Wolfer, one of two soldiers felled by an April 6 rocket attack inside Baghdad’s Green Zone, made its way back home Tuesday as Jewish communities thousands of miles apart mobilized to give comfort to his loved ones.

First Upsherin in Beijing!

BEIJING, China [CHI] — Beijing, China recently experienced its first Upsherin. Levi Raskin, the son of Rabbi Mendy and Chani Raskin, Directors of Chabad of Downtown Beijing, was given his first haircut on his 3rd birthday in a communal event attended by over 150 members of the Jewish Community.

Rabbi’s Bakery Blends Families, Bread

Rabbi Levi Krinsky puts rolled matzo dough into an oven in the gym of the Jewish Federation of New Hampshire on Sunday. The Chabad Lubavitch of New Hampshire-sponsored event was aimed at teaching the process of making matzo before Passover, which is next Sunday. “The simplicity of matzo represents the simplicity of man,” Krinsky said.

MANCHESTER, NH — Scott Schaeffer and his family buy their matzo bread at the store, he says, only because “we don’t have the (utensils) to make it at home.”

London Yeshiva Distributes Over 2,000 Matzos!

LONDON, England [CHI] — Amid an unusually snowy Sunday morning, Yeshiva Gedola London was abuzz with activity when fifty Bochurim worked for over six hours packing and distributing matzos to over two thousand families living in the neighborhood of the yeshiva – Hampstead Garden Suburb, London. Each box was carefully packed with two full Shmura Matzos and a Passover guide.
