Jamaica, NY — Thousands of Hasidic Jewish women recited psalms and prayed for guidance Friday as they huddled around the Queens gravesite of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson, wife of the last Lubavitcher rebbe.

The rebbetzin, who died 19 years ago Saturday, was known for her loyalty to her husband, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, whom she pushed to become the seventh rebbe - or spiritual leader - in 1950.

Acknowledging the rebbe and rebbetzin's inspiring lives, scores of female emissaries from places as distant as Australia, Japan and Siberia journeyed to the couple's final resting place in Cambria Heights.

Rabbi Perlstein farbrengs with Minnesota Yeshiva

Cottage Grove, MN — What would you do if your newborn granddaughter and the yeshiva you helped create were in the same city?

Of course! You would make a trip to visit the newborn and farbreng in the yeshiva! Rabbi Moshe Binyomin Perlstein farbrenged with the bochurim of Minnesota Yeshiva Thursday night, which was also the Birthday Day of one of the bochurim. Rabbi Perlstein talked alot about his move from Brisk to Lubavitch, told many funny yet inspiring stories, and got all the bochurim to make hachlotos to strengthen their hiskashrus.

At the brunch, Rubashkin welcomed Senator Adams to the community, who was joined by members of his staff. He told the audience how he looked forward to working in partnership with the Jewish community, which supported him in the November election.

Senator Adams, who recently retired from the NYPD as a captain, will represent CrownHeightsin Albany. The Senator remarked how he is fortunate to be elected at a time when the Democrats are only a mere few seats away from taking the majority in Albany.
