Chabad offers Free Menorahs for Students

College students across the country can receive a free Chanukah Holiday Kit from Chabad on Campus.

CampusJ.com reported that the kit consists of a menorah, candles, a dreidel and a Chanukah “user’s guide.”

In December of 1928, the Rebbe’s marriage to Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka, daughter of the then Lubavitcher Rebbe Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, was held in Warsaw, Poland.

By then, word of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak’s heroic struggle on behalf of Soviet Jewry was world renowned, and the high regard in which he was held was evidenced by the numerous rabbis, Rebbes and lay leaders of European Jewry, and the thousands of people from all walks of life, who honored him with their presence at his daughter’s wedding.

Encino, CA — On the third night of Chanukah, at 6 p.m., a parade of 40 cars topped with electric menorahs will wend its way about six miles under police escort from southwest Houston to The Galleria, where several thousand people will gather for the lighting of a giant 7-foot menorah carved out of ice.

Rabbi and Mrs. Shaya Gopin of Crown Heights have just moved on Shlichus to West Hartford, CT where they will serve as directors of adult education for the greater Hartford area.

The Gopins were appointed by Rabbi Yosef Gopin of Chabad of Greater Hartford.
