Labor Day Parking Regulations and Street Closures

Alternate side parking regulations will be suspended on Labor Day, Monday, September 4. Because Labor Day is a major legal holiday, parking meter regulations will also be suspended. On major legal holidays, stopping, standing, and parking are permitted, except in areas where stopping, standing, and parking rules are in effect 7 days a week (for example, “No Standing Anytime”).

Kingston Ave. will be open for local residents only. Officers will be posted on the corner of Empire Blvd and Kingston Ave to allow residents to pass.

All streets North of President St (President, Union, Eastern Parkway etc.) will be closed.

Jewish group backs Yassky

The NY Daily News

Crown Heights Jewish leaders are slated to step into a charged Brooklyn congressional race today when they endorse City Councilman David Yassky, the Daily News has learned.

Members of the Crown Heights Political Action Committee – the political arm of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council – are expected to make the announcement with Yassky at a City Hall press conference.

“He had a sensitive ear to our needs while a councilman, and we remembered that,” said Rabbi Nochum Gross, former chairman of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council.
