Architect He Wei of Beijing has mapped out construction of government compounds for thousands of workers, choreographed the dizzying dance of steel I-beams and rebar by the ton to raise apartment buildings, but the details of assembling a mikvah at the Rohr Family Chabad Community Centre of Chabad of Beijing, the first ever in vicinity of the Forbidden City, and the first in China since World War II, nearly did him in.

NY Empire State Building turns 75

One of New York’s most famous landmarks, the Empire State Building, is celebrating its 75th birthday.

It opened in 1931 during America’s Great Depression and took just 13 months to construct.

For 40 years, it was the world’s tallest building until the World Trade Center was built and is once again New York City’s highest structure.

Accident Leaves Car in Apple Drugs Retention Polls

At around 1:20am and loud screech was heard throughout the intersection of Crown and Kingston followed by the definite sound of metal crashing into metal. A black Nissan Maxima which was reported to be traveling at a high rate of speed down Crown St collided with a Buick Park Avenue which was going up Kingston Ave allegedly taking the red light according to witnessing bystanders.

A few Hatzalah members that were right around responded and offered to treat the 2 drivers who were both not Jewish, however they had refused medical attention. The Nissan ended up in the poles in front of Apple Drugs, who had them placed there due to an accident a number of years ago when a car went crashing right into the store.

More Gunshots On The Streets of Crown Heights

At 3:20pm in a store on the corner of Crown St and Nostrand Ave a Black Male was shot in the face. Police responded in very large numbers, including Emergency Services Unit, a Helicopter as well as numerous detectives.

Apparently the shooting was gang related. The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital where the announcement came that he wasn’t likely to survive. The mother and brother of the victim were on the scene of the shooting and were both screaming at the surrounding building that they would be coming to avenge their sibling’s blood. At one point the brother attempted to ‘rush’ the entrance of one of the buildings, only to be stopped by all the officers and detectives that were there.

ESU then formed up in full tactical assault gear (Bullet Proof Vests, Kevlar Helmets, Shields, Drawn Pistols and Assault rifles and equipment to break down doors) and began entering the buildings from the basement. Apparently the Police knew exactly who they were after, and as of now they have not apprehended anyone.
