As preparations are beginning for the new school year and seminars over zoom are being held for the mechanchim and mechanchos, to ensure that it be a successful year, I decided to post a section of a chapter from my upcoming biography on the Rebbe Rashab, where he espouses his views on the criteria of an educator. The threat that the authorities will evict him from Lubavitch because of him being so outspoken didn’t faze him.
The relationship we have with Hashem is a remarkable one. Throughout our history the nations of the world have always tried to entice the Yidden to follow them, they call out to the Jews ‘Shuvi, Shuvi’ turn toward us and away from Hashem. His biography of the Rebbe’s father, which was originally published in Hebrew, has since been partly translated into English under the title: Rabbi, Mystic, Leader: The Life and Times of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson. He was interviewed in his home in Betar Illit, Israel, in January of 2014.
