This Wednesday, June 27, friends and family will gather to commemorate one year since the passing of Rabbi Zalman Kazen, OBM. The event will take place at Rabbi Shain’s Shul, 390 Kingston Ave. [between Crown and Montgomery St.] at 8:00pm, beginning with Mincha, followed by the ceremony, Mishnayos and Maariv.
This Sunday, 4th of Tammuz, at 4:00pm, family and friends will join together at Shain’s Shul (390 Kingston Ave.) to begin a Sefer Torah in honor and memory of Mrs. Itta Feiga Spitezki, OBM, in conjunction with her tenth yahrtzeit. Mrs. Spitezki was a longtime Shlucha of the Rebbe in Brussels, Belgium.
The Schapiro families will be completing the writing of a Sefer Torah in memory of their distinguished parents, Rabbi Lipa and Mrs. Chana Schapiro, and their beloved brother Rabbi Levi Yitzchak, OBM.
This Shabbos at the Besht, in honor of Gimmel Tammuz, several lecturers will lead discussions on a variety of topics. On Friday evening Rabbi Shmuel Kuperman, Rabbi of the Besht, will deliver a special lecture. Rabbi Chaim Shuchat will lecture at 9:00am Shabbos morning, as well as at 8:00pm following mincha. Guest speaker Rabbi Mendel Lipskier, Shliach in Sherman Oaks, CA, will lead a large farbrengen on Shabbos afternoon after Shachris.
This Shabbos, in honor of GImmel Tammuz, many Shuls in Crown Heights will be hosting a Farbrengen with a special guest who will give words of inspiration. Following is a list of 40 Crown Heights Shuls that will be hosting such an event on Shabbos afternoon.
Tonight, Thursday at the Beis Eliezer Yitzchok Shul, located at 394 Kingston Ave. [between Crown and Montgomery St.], renowned lecturer Rabbi Y. Y. Jacobson will present a powerful lecture on the Rebbe’s Torah in honor of Gimmel Tammuz, from 8:30 to 10:30 sharp. A second Shiur on the same topic will take place the following Sunday morning at 10:00am.

Ahead of Gimmel Tammuz, Chabad Israeli Centers, a special division of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, with the organizational assistance of a group of Israeli Bochurim, will hold a special event at the Ohel for Israeli expatriates and Hebrew-speakers from the New York area.
With sadness we inform you of the passing of Devorah Perel Rosenberg, OBM, grandmother of the Lang family of Crown Heights. The Levaya will take place this morning, Sunday, at 11:30 AM at Old Montefiore Cemetery in Cambria Heights.

This Sunday, June 10, 2012, at 4:00pm, the Crown Heights community will be joined by Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes for an evening of policy education, awareness, and prevention.
Organizers at the Ohel are getting organized ahead of Gimmel Tammuz, which falls out this year on Shabbos Parashas Korah. Both sleeping and eating arrangements at the Ohel will see major changes and those wishing to spend shabbos will need to RSVP.
