BDE: Rabbi Zalman Baras, 38, OBM

With great sadness we report the passing of Rabbi Zalman Baras, a Mashpia at Yeshiva Lubavitch in Cincinnati. He passed away on Thursday, 30 Adar I, 5779 following an extended illness. He was 38 years old.

Rabbi Baras, a native of Crown Heights, moved to Cincinnati to dedicate his life to the education of yeshiva bochurim at the Lubavitcher Yeshiva.

A well-known, respected, and beloved Rebbe and Mashpia for over 10 years, Rabbi Zalman worked tirelessly to put his community and students at the forefront of education and spiritual connection; guiding and selflessly offering assistance at every turn.

Rabbi Baras inspired many throughout his illness and united the world in reciting Tehillim and doing good deeds on his behalf.

Rabbi Baras leaves behind his wife Nechama Dina (nee Shusterman) Baras, and a family of 7 children.

Such an awful situation.
The Rebbe blessed Zalmen A”H with long and good years.
He did not have long physical years, but with all the outpouring of love, tehillim, financial support etc, he accomplished more than most people do in double his lifespan.
My mind is still reeling.
His children, his wife, parents, grandparents, siblings. Oy.
May Hashem comfort you as only He knows how with the immediate geula NOW.
