On Motzai Shabbos, residents discovered swastikas and hate-filled messages scrawled on the wall of a Hatzalah garage in Crown Heights. Earlier, on Shabbos morning, residents found leaflets with printed swastikas spread around in the same area.

It was a parade to see. Floats, thousands of little children, music, charity and words of Torah. Rabbi Jacob J. Hecht, had been down the days before the parade, worried what its success would be. Would people come? Will the program be entertaining? Will the kids enjoy the event? For Rabbi Hecht there was no question when it was done of how wrong he was.

A Lag Ba’omer bonfire and celebration took place for the 30th year running on Empire Boulevard, in the backyard of the Horowitz family home. Together, the Horowitz family and Rabbi Nachman Twerskei held their annual ‘Hadlokoh’ of a Bonfire in honor of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai.
