Picture of the Day

Crown Heights has never been considered a “safe” neighborhood. The general rule has always been that if it’s not secured, it will be taken. So when a reader noticed this incredible lock up job, he felt the need to pass it on. Please make sure to fully secure your bike so it should not be stolen.

Video of the Day

It’s become obvious that Crown Heights has a problem. That problem rides around on a bike, black garbage bag in hand, and steals packages from in front of Crown Heights homes in broad daylight. The thief has been caught on camera yet again confidently walking up to houses and lifting their packages. Despite being caught on camera multiple times, the man has yet to be caught in the act.

The series launched this week with the testimony of Martin Schiller, a Jewish man from Poland who described his experiences in the concentration and slave labor camps of Plaszow, Skarzysko-Kamienna, Buchenwald and Theresienstadt. Plaszow serves as the setting for the film “Schindler’s List.”
