Weather Alert Issued For NYC As Heavy Rains and Localized Flooding Head to the City Monday
Showers are expected to become more widespread Monday morning, with the greatest risk for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms expected between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. While rain is not expected to fall throughout the day, individual thunderstorms may produce rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour, which could lead to isolated to scattered instances of flash flooding of urban, poor drainage, low-lying areas, and along quick-responding streams.
