Picture of the Day: A Life-Saving Gift

Rabbi Mendel Stein, development director of the Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Oak Park, Michigan, smiles with Randy Gillary as they display the newly installed heart defibrillator he donated to the institution.

Randy Gillary’s daughter, Kimberly Anne, died after a sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 15 while attending a local public school.

In the 15 years since her passing, the Gillary family has donated over 650 AEDs (automated external defibrillators), costing over a million dollars, to schools throughout the state.
