Released Time Hosts Special Bar-Mitzvah in 770

CROWN HEIGHTS — Last week Moshe Manis and Reuven Oberland celebrated a special occasion; the bar-mitzvah of one of their students who is a special needs child.

The boy decided he wanted to celebrate the occasion in 770. Attended by his family and friends, they later held a “Seudas Mitzvah” at Ester’s deli in Crown Heights.

Every week over 200 bochurim head out to 100 public schools throughout the state of New York as part of “Released Time”.

Run under the auspices of NCFJE and directed by Rabbi Shazak Zirkind, the program is designed to give a Jewish education to Jewish children learning in public schools.
