    Money grab. The city is just so full of it with their “let’s drive safely and not kill anyone rushing to the next light” campaign. Come on, we all know that it’s about the money. If the city cared about peoples’ lives and health, there would be an effort from the Health Department to curb obesity, from the Department of Transportation to encourage healthier means of transport, and from the Parks Department to increase the air’s breathability by planting trees. Those clearly aren’t happening, I don’t see how anyone can read into this as safety. The hefty fine is on people driving an average of 20 miles above the limit is outrageous. {/}

  • But bicycles riders

    Are free to drive what when where how they want,

    Hitting & injuring older people younger people anyone who is in their way & they don’t even stop to help it’s hit & run, no arrest ticket or anything.

    It would be interesting to make a survey born brooklyn’ites who are in favor of the bike lanes?.
