Women Bake ‘Loaves of Love’ in Terror Victims’ Memory

Loaves of Love, held at Chabad Israel Center in Los Angeles, attracted Jewish women from Beverly Hills, Agoura Hills and everywhere in between. The event we held in memory of Rabbi Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg HY”D and victims of the Mumbai Terrorist Attack in 2008.

Round tables filled the Shul with bowls that held all the ingredients to make Challah. After an elegant dessert buffet, attendees made two braided loaves from scratch lead by master baker Lillian Douek. Sisters Chaya Rivka and Batya Kessler sang a beautiful and soulful rendition of “Shir Hamalot”.

The program featured Joyce Azria, creative Director of BCBGeneration who shared a powerful message of perspective, potential and possibility for change that impacted each woman there.

Mrs. Miriam Hildeshaim of Chabad Carthay Circle lead the ladies in prayer and blessings of Hafrashas Challah.

“The incredible feedback we received continues to stream in. I am still receiving texts of women who are sharing their feelings of inspiration” said Shlucha Fayge Yemini.

The beautiful evening was organized by Fayge Yemini, Brocha Yemini, Batya Cohen, Sharon Gomperts and Danielle Forer. Special thank you to Lillian Douek, Chaya Israily, Gittel Yemini and the students of Ohel Chana High School.
