Children Graduate Hebrew School in Scotland’s Capital

80 people – children, parents and grandparents – filled the Lubavitch Centre in Glasgow, Scotland for the annual Hebrew School Graduation, Prize Giving and tea reception.

Lubavitch Cheder and Hebrew School Classes have been running for 43 years, since Rabbi and Mrs. Chaim and Sora Jacobs came to Glasgow. Currently 35 children are educated weekly, including the Bat Chayil classes. Also teaching at the classes is Rabbi Mendel Jacobs.

Sora Jacobs, Cheder head teacher, complimented the tremendous efforts of all the children and the support of the parents. Textbooks and Workbooks created by Chaim and Sora some 12 years ago are used in Lubavitch classes in Glasgow, and also in many Hebrew Schools throughout the world.

Guests of honor this year were Brian and Dorothy Levine, Long standing friends and supporters of the movement in Glasgow.

Brian Levine praised the work of Lubavitch and noted that his children, and more recently his grandchildren, have all attended Lubavitch Nursery school, Hebrew School and Bat Chayil Classes. “We parents have done our share in supporting Lubavitch, it is now up to you, the young parents, to continue this support” he told the assembled.
