Picture of the Day: The Rebbe’s Army on the Subway

A CrownHeights.info reader sent in this photo of a New York City subway commuter, whose dress indicates that she is a devout Muslim, reading Sue Fishkoff’s book The Rebbe’s Army, which was published in honor of the 10th anniversary of Gimmel Tammuz in 2004.

    • this is great to see

You’re joking, right? Isn’t it wonderful when people take the time and interest to learn about different cultures? Isn’t it a great opportunity to strike up a conversation about the rebbe and religion?

If you notice, she has her septum pierced, indicating to me that while she may be a “devout Muslim” she is also someone who marches to her own beat.

We can’t shut out the world and live in a bubble.

I am on the waiting list for the digital version of Rebbe: The Life and Teachings of Menachem M. Schneerson. I look forward to reading it and learning something new.

#5. you are insulting another yid. You should disagree like a human being, not like an arrogant, shut down, in the box child. that is worse than useless.

Good for her! And she’s modest too! You don’t have to be Jewish to join the Rebbe’s army. We can’t discriminate who we teach Noahide Laws to. Just wish we had the budget to advertise in the subway & busses!
