Another Moment of Kindness – By a Firefighter

An act of kindness by a New York City police officer was picked up by the mass media after it was captured by a passerby. Another act of kindness was captured by a CrownHeights.info photographer at the scene of a fire, where an FDNY Captain helped a lady cross the street with her wagon.

The photos were captured on Monday afternoon on Montgomery and Troy, where firefighters successfully doused a blaze in someone’s kitchen. As they began wrapping up, Captain Washington of engine company 234 on S. Johns Avenue saw a woman struggle to cross the street with her wagon, he went over and helped her.

      we should all learn for these people in uniform… if only next time you see someone in need you will help them… I watch people in this neighborhood walk by people in need.. to open a door.. to help with some bags… to push their stroller over the ice… wake up people lets help our neighbors..

    Yes it is news worthy. This guy had one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, he just finished battling an all hands fire, he is also a captain and that means he has other Responsibility’s on the scene even after the fire is extinguished yet he still had the presence of mind to give the old lady a hand. Very impressive.

    Uh, actually he just helped her over his fire hose that was blocking the street and was a trip hazzard. She then went across the street herself.

    Just shows what a uniform does – it draws attention and its gives you responsibility.
    If someone in a uniform did something not nice, it would also be over the news.
    As Yidden and Lubavitchers – we have a uniform and we stand out. We need to make sure we draw only positive attention to ourselves.
