Boruch Dayan Hoemes: Mumeh Rochel Krichevsky OBM

With sadness we inform you of the passing of Mrs. Rochel (Rochel Leah) Krichevsky of Eretz Yisroel, on Yud Shvat.

She was the daughter of the Chossid, Reb Ze’ev Volf (Velvel) Shteingart, who sat in jail in Russia for 22 years, and his wife Chana (nee Chein). She was the granddaughter of the Chossid Reb Meir Simcha Chein.

Together with her husband, yibadlu l’chaim tovim, R’ Yakov (Yani), Krichevsky, she risked her life both for Yiddishkeit in Russia and to help save the lives of Yidden there. Despite the danger involved, she opened her home to many Chassidim who were on the run from the Soviet authorities. Once in Eretz Yisroel, she continued to help Yidden and strengthen Yiddishkeit in Russia. She also supported Chabad Shluchim and moisdos in many places around the world.

Her Levaya was on Yud Shvat.

She is survived by, yibadlu l’chaim tovim, her husband, R’ Yakov (Yani) Krichevsky, her sons, R’ Mendel Krichevsky, Sholom Ber Krichevsky and Mattisyahu Krichevsky, grandchildren that are shluchim of the Rebbe all over the world, and great-grandchildren.

If you have anything to share about her (stories, photos…), the family would greatly appreciate it if you would send them to nichumrls@gmail.com

Baruch Dayan Hoemes.
