The Missionary DVD that showed up in peoples mail box.

Crown Heights has long been a target for missionary activity; their most common tactic is that of well dressed people with bibles that look like ‘Chumashim’ with the Hebrew letters and they would prey on mostly children but they are easy to spot and avoid. Now it seems they have launched a new campaign via mail, numerous household received a DVD over Shabbos entitled “Yemot Hamashiach – Days Of Moshiach”, this DVD is a movie glorifying ‘their Moshiach’ and should be gotten rid of just like any other junk mail.

It is important to note that this isn't the first time that they employed such evasive tactics, there were two other incidents [click here for the first and second Articles] as reported here on CrownHeights.info.

These people are strangers and just like we warned our kids of the incidents that took place in other communities, you should warn them of these people too. If you see such activities in our neighborhood don’t hesitate to call Shomrim at (718) 774-3333.

Here in Israel it is illegal to proselityze to minors. Don’t you have a similar law in the US.
If you do, then people should certainly be calling the shomrim and the police and press charges against this disgusting missionaries.

These idiots were offering books to me this past Shabbos, on the corner of Empire and Brooklyn.

  • I GOT IT

I RECIEVED THE DVD AND STARTED WATCHING IT THINKING IT WAS A LUBAVITCH THING THEM THEY START SAYING HOW YEHOSHUA IS C"V MOSHIACH

  • MG

From the moment I played it I suspected it was missionarys in my mail.

I typed AMJP into google.com (that’s what it says on the cover), and one of the results were: "…Jews for J*sus…"

Once I was walking down empire, and a lady told me "Jes-s loves you ‘Cuze of your beutifull sweater."

And she tryed striking up a discusion.

She started to tell me that Yehosua was jewish.
    But I walked off.

Of course it’s not illegal. We have freedom of speech and religion, and a good thing too, otherwise Lubavitch would have been driven underground long ago.

Unfortunately, certain arguments that traditionally were used against missionaries (e.g. in the classical vikuchim) no longer work in CH…

  • I WACHED

THE SECOND ISAW IT I THOUGHT IT WAS CHRISTIAN BECUASE WHO ELSE WOULD MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT MOSHIACH? LUBAVITCH !! IF IT WAS LUBAVITCH IT WOULD SAY YECHI … BUT NEVER THE LESS I WATCHED IT AND WHEN I SAW IT SPOKE ABOUT HASHEM AND IT WAS IN YIDDISH I THOUGHT MAYBE THE NONE LUBAVITCHERS ARE SHAPING UP HOWEVER WHEN I SAW HOW THEY SHOW ADAM AND AVRAHAM AND YITZCHAK IT WAS CONTRARY TO JUDAISM HOW THEY MADE THEM ACT AND LOOK SO NOW I KNEW IT WAS CHRISTIAN AND WHEN THEY STARTED SPEAKING ABOUT YESHU (INITIALS OF YEMACH SHEMOH VEZICHRO) ISTPED WATCHING IT AND CRACKED THE DVD

My husband saw your warning only at a glance and actually thought you were promoting the DVD to fight against the missionaries.
In the future if we have to deal with such a thing PLEASE write: MISSIONARIES on a diagonal in BOLD Letters over the DVD so we get the message even at a glance.
It took us a few minutes of watching to realize that the "non-Lubavitchers"were HERETICS or worse Y"MSM.

How can we get rid of them?

  • susected something

first I looked at the literature, it looked too good and expensive, with no address for you to send them money – sadly that’s what got me suspicious (LOL)!
I put it aside to look at when kids are not around, just in case. Before i got a chance, I saw the warning (on a diff website, but we read all of you)
I hope they spent LOTS of money on it

Being a former member of such groups the best way to get rid of them is to polietlty ignore them or if you are in the mature learned crowd a quick debate to shut them up. I was actually reciving traing on how to C’V missionize Jews. I was getting not much more than a surface understanding full of misconceptions and it wasn’t until I landed at the local Chabad house that my eyes really opened. They will twist words and will prey on the what they percieved to be unlearned. If one is devoted to yiddeskit and the Rebbe they should have no problem in at least polietly ignoring them. I wish success to all faceed with this problem.

How about someone acts something out, and asks for 1000 "for his friends!"

That shurely will spend their last pennies

  • Shoshana Olidort

I saw these things before. I cant figure out who would spend their money on such foolish things.

  • ani

if someone asks for a lot of these, they might be encouraged and produce more (chas v’shalom)

  • Ariel Antimishuchavitz

Wow the mishichistin are really getting out of hand!
