A Week of Mivtzoim in Honor of 11th of Nissan in Toronto

Toronto, ON — During the week of Yud Alef Nissan, in honor of the Rebbe’s 105th Birthday, A Mitzvah Tank went out into the streets of Toronto to spread Torah and Mitzvohs and the Spirit of the Holiday of Pesach to the Jewish Community at large.

More pictures in the Extended Article!

Organized by Mendy Goldberg and The Bochurim of Shiur Alef Mesivta, Toronto, funds were raised, and a tank was rented in order to distribute Pesach guides and Shmura Matza in honor of Pesach. Candle lighting kits [Neshe”k] were also given out to women to light on Erev Shabbos and all Holidays.

At the same time Jewish men and teenagers had the opportunity to put on Tefillin while they visited inside the Mitzvah Tanks.

With great success, many Jews of Toronto stepped up to the Mitzvah tank.

    excellent work, kol hakovod.

One small note (and i dont mean davka to critiscize…) but i think that its appropiate to tuck in your shirt while on Mivtzoyim.
    Just a small haora…..

Keep up the great work. I came the next morning to work, and found a guide at my door. (I guess they saw the Mizuzah) I am very impressed!!

To ggg’s haora about shirts not tucked in:

We don’t tuck in our shirts in order not to make a ‘dira b’tach’toynim’.

Making such a ‘dira’ is deferred to the Litvish’eh bochurim.

Yasher koach. Bochurim with power. But the way I read it – these bochurim needed to raise the money themselves. This begs the question: Why was there no financial $upport from the $haliach of Toronto? What did the $Haliach do for Yud Alef Nisson?

I agree with you completely, over here in Toronto, the “Shluchim” don’t give a penny or do a thing, about real Mivtyoim, all they do is put out flyers, which mention all the “Shluchim” and pat themselves on the back. They only support things, that they will get money in return and fame. SAD CASE.

Anyway, great Mivtzoyim and keep up the good work. Moshiach now, Yechi Hamelech.

i also agree. i know personally that the boys did it all themselves and the shluchim wouldn’t give any help. btw, the boys did this also last year, with three tanks and also then they didn’t get any help.
good job bochurim, hopefully next year ull have it easy if enough ppl speak up

Kop Doktar, Torontonian and all you brilliant people out there commenting:

    Things haven’t changed!

For the past 30 years bochurim would raise money for mitzva tanks and in Toronto it should be no different.

As for being someone who is so into the Rebbe’s mivtzoyim… and cares so much about the Rebbe’s inyonim, why don’t you think twice or even once before you speak out negatively about the Shluchim that the Rebbe sent to a city to be His representatives.

But naturally as in each city, some “anash” simply don’t get it!

    Happy Pesach!
